Nike Launch Mercurial XXV Pack

The party does not stop for the Mercurial’s 25th anniversary! Right after the Limited Edition XXV, Nike makes available the general XXV Pack that still features the Air Zoom Mercurial Superfly 9 and Vapor 15 in a silver colourway. It’s a similar upper with an all-over pattern of silhouette Mercurial brandings (albeit deeper in shade and with less gloss), but the pack now applies solid details and makes a minor change on that additional detail between the Superfly and Vapor. It’s a small differentiation but might just be an effective incentive for one to decide if they should spend that extra few pounds for the former or stick with the latter.

The Flyknit collar, however minor it is as a demarcation detail between the Superfly and Vapor these past few years, is still that factor whether your spend an extra £20-£25 Mercurial pair. This is the case even with the recent special Mercurial XXV release. The good thing about the standard pack is that the Air Zoom football boots have their own colour accents, the first time in a long while when each Mercurial has its own look.

So regarding those colour accents, the Superfly has the Hyper Pink applied to its Swoosh and the MXXV logo, with the Vapor opting for volt instead. When we think of Hyper Pink, we might immediately think of the likes of Hyper Pink Superfly IV from the Lightning Storm Pack. And with volt we remember that particular release of the Superfly III. Suffice to say the chosen accents in this regular XXV pack are based on some Mercurial hits from the past.

Now consider the triple Cs – collar, colour and celebration – in choosing your next Mercurial pair if you’re going to cop one of the Mercurial XXV boots.
