Neymar Jr. Football Boots

Dean Ariola

Neymar Jr. is officially a Puma player, with the sportswear brand striking a long-term partnership with NR Sports, the company which holds the image rights of the player. For a long time, the golden boy from Brazil had been wearing the iconic Mercurial Vapors and had multiple signature model releases with Nike. Now Neymar’s boots are the Future, a pair known for its superior comfort and adaptive-fitting Fuzionfit360 upper. The distinct construction of the Future makes it a unique pair of football boots, just like Neymar is on the pitch.

The Latest Neymar Boots

Creativity Future 7 Ultimate

Neymar was still recovering when his third Future Creativity boot was launched. And that might had influenced the decision to have the boot worn by up-and-coming stars handpicked by the man himself. So far each of his Creativity boot had been for a specific Future generation: the Z model in 2021, the Ultimate in 2023, and this one in 2024 for the 7 Ultimate.

Puma Future 7 Ultimate

He’s been out for how many months now, but that won’t stop Neymar from at least headlining the release of his beloved Puma Future, especially if it’s a generational release. It highly unlikely that we are going to see him with either the teaser FTR or the launch Phenomenal, but definitely Neymar coming back and wearing the Future 7 is still in the books.

Puma Gear Up Future

Neymar had the UCL-dedicated Gear Up Future during Brazil’s international matches. Unfortunately, he suffered a major injury once again, limiting his appearances with this predominantly Persian Blue Future Ultimates to just a few games.

All-time Brazil Top Goalscorer

Neymar became Brazil’s top goalscorer in September 2023, dethroning the legendary Pele in the process. Puma might had expected Neymar to do so earlier than realised as the special pair of Future boots given to celebrate the achievement were the previous Z 1.3 or 1.4 generation instead of the present Ultimate.

Instituto

Neymar might had moved to another country and another league, but he still had his heart looking after the children of his non-profit institute that watches out for the welfare of the underprivileged youth in his old neighbourhood in Sao Paulo. Using Brazil’s national football colours, Puma integrated children’s drawings, inspired by the theme ‘What Neymar Means to Me,’ onto the boot.

Creativity 2023

Against a white base, a multitude of coloured waving graphics got printed across this signature Future boots, all in at symbolising the star’s creativity in team plays and individual skills. It was a bit unfortunate that they got announced during the star’s long-stretch in the medical bay, causing concern that he might not be able to lace them up at all.

Future Ultimate Superchage

Neymar and the rest of the Future co. moved forward in their 2022/23 campaign after the World Cup wearing the purplish blue Future Ultimate from the Puma Supercharge Pack. New-gen boots for the new year certainly supercharged every player’s future in football.

DNA Future Ultimate

Prior to the Supercharge Future, Puma dropped the Future Ultimate DNA as a teaser to what’s to come after the Future Z 1.4.

Neymar 2022 World Cup

Building on the Fiery Coral template of the Fearless Pack, Neymar’s ‘Dream Chaser‘ layers the upper with a golden application of the Grip Control Pro with stylised wordings of Dream and Chaser on either side of the boot. More glamorous but still in unison with the 2022 Puma World Cup boots…

Neymar Puma Boot Choices

Aside from football-related endorsement, Neymar would also be an off-pitch brand ambassador as the football star will be wearing Puma’s lifestyle clothing, training outfits, sports-inspired footwear, and other Puma apparel and products. Bjørn Gulden, CEO of PUMA, acknowledges Neymar is one of the best players in the world and one of the most influential to global football and youth culture.

Neymar’s Future Z Boots

Neymar cites watching videos of Pele, Cruyff, and Maradona and seeing them wear the Puma King inspired him to wear the Puma silo. He mentions that the players were the kings of the pitch and commits to follow in their footsteps to recreate the magic of the Puma King Platinum.

Neymar actually began his Puma deal wearing the King Platinum, another silo with a rich history as it had graced the feet of none other than Pele. The Puma King Platinum received a remake last 2019 and saw the boot fitted with a slim, modern speed boot silhouette and a soft premium K-leather. The Rapidsprint outsole complemented the overall lightweight profile of the boot. Puma marketed Neymar’s move to wear the specific Puma boots as the ‘Return of the King.’ The Puma King Platinum increased a bit in popularity with a marquee player contracted to play it regularly.

With move to Puma comes the new Neymar symbol, which is an ‘N’ with a ‘J’ at the bottom and a curved ‘r’ at the top, producing a chain-like overall look punctuated by the Puma Cat at the bottom right corner.

Neymar’s Nike Boots

Neymar previously wore the Nike Mercurial range, posing as the headline player for the speed silo along with Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappe. Having previously headlined the Hypervenom, Neymar went on to wear the Vapor Mercurials.

In 2013 Neymar was the face of the Nike Hypervenom boots. his boot collaberations saw a first for football Air Jordan boot, dubbed the NJR x Jordan before falling out of love with the silo as Nike evolved the design over time and NJR returing to wearing the Vapor over time. In the early part of 2019, Nike had shown the Silencio for his Vapor 12 and August of 2019 provided the world with NJR Speed Freak Vapor 13, inspired by Neymar’s love of speed and of F1 Formula racing.

Another boot he was famously recognised for wearing was the Nike Green Speed, the lightest and fastest by Nike made from recycled bottles and renewable materials at that time. The boot was limited and only produced 2012 pairs worldwide (number based on its year of release). And contracted in the previous years to represent the Swoosh internationally, Neymar received special Golden Dream Hypervenoms that he wore in the 2014 World Cup knockout stages and a pair of Meu Jogo Mercurial Vapor worn in Russia 2018.

Who is Neymar?

Neymar was born on the 5th of February 1992 in Mogi das Cruzes, Brazil. Neymar was regarded as one of the best youth talents in world football and was nominated in the 2012 Ballon d’Or aged just 20. Neymar began his career at Santos in 2003 where he played through the youth levels. He made his debut aged 17 years old for the club in March 2009 in a 2-1 win against Oeste.

In May 2013 Neymar sealed a long-awaited move to Spanish giants Barcelona for £48.6m. He made his competitive debut for the club in a 7-0 drubbing against Levante UD and he scored his first goal for the club against Atletico Madrid in the Spanish Supercup. On the top of his team awards in Barcelona are the treble of the La Liga, Copa del Rey, and UCL in the 2014-2015 season. In 2017, he signed with PSG with his signature costing the club €222 million, making his transfer, even to this date, the most expensive in history. He would then be part of the Ligue 1 winning PSG team in the succeeding seasons.
