Nike Reveals Special ‘Link’ Phantom GX

Nike drops the ‘Link’ GX Fusion, another special edition of the Phantom line just a few weeks removed from the launch of the Blaze Phantom GX. More than the colourway, the Fusion introduces some tweaks to the build of the GX, mostly on the rear part of the boot. Whereas the regular GX has a tighter knit weave and a thin layer of Gripknit on the quarter, the one on the Fusion has a more breathable finish without any coating/film overlay.

The Nike Gripknit on the ‘Link’ GX has a graphite-like projection because of its two-tone grey combination, dark for the base and the light for the bespoke stitch pattern. The knit on the quarter, aside from having a different weaving compared to the regular GX, has a multicolour look that bears semblance with the adidas Primeknit Samba.

Volt stands out as among the secondary colour details as it shows up through the studs and the Swoosh outline on the outstep and the other Nike references on the heel. As for the tongue (plus Ghost Lacing and Collar for the DF model), the boot goes pitch black. Finally, the outsole presents an even divide with a faded transition between white and black.

The Phantom GX ‘Link’ takes the sticky Nike Gripknit technology and links it with a striking full-spectrum knit for a boot that gets looks, and creates chances.
