Leather Tech Craft

Nike’s 2020 Tech Craft Pack features the Mercurial Vapor 13 and Phantom GT with a layer of K-leather, and the Tiempo Legend 8 in a full-leather upper, along with the Nike Premier that fits in nicely as an additional leather option.

Inspired by the iconic 1994 World Cup boots, the Tech Craft boots all showcase a black upper filled with white applications and a golden-yellow soleplate. Also, a bold white NIKE branding shows on the rear of the soccer cleats, which is really the pack’s standout feature.

Nike have been dropping their Tech Craft packs for many years now, with varying degrees of success and different ways of applying the leather to the boots. It make sense that the Superfly and Phanotm GT that have the sock collars do not feature in this pack due to their flyknit construction, whilst the Tiempo and Premier differ little to their regular releases aside from the colour up. These have to be some of the classiest leather boots that Nike have dropped in a while and certainly something for the leather purists.

In terms of boot specifics, the Zap Swoosh on the Vapor 13’s medial side remains to be an outline, while the reverse Swoosh on the ball part, as well as the GT and Tiempo Swooshes, are all solid. Aside from the Vapor, Tiempo, and GT, the Nike Premier II also receives the black and golden-yellow colourway of the 2020 Tech Craft Pack. Overall, the boots boast a minimalist yet stylish look thanks to the crafty incorporation of leather, ensuring that the Tech Craft will continue beyond 2020.
