Furon
Furon maintains one of the few knitted options out there for a speed boot, at a time when the major brands went back to synthetics. It has always been the main act of New Balance Football, and arguably makes the case as one. if not the popular option out there outside the Mercs, F50s and the Ultras.
Tekela
The Tekela may have started as a supporting act to the Furon, but it has gained some following in recent years. You can point to the likes of Endrick and Harvey Elliott, plus the shift of other NB stars to the Tekela as proof that it can finally be a star on its own.
442
The 442 has increased its value proposition because of its competitive pricing for synthetic leather boots, setting it up in a collision course with the Nike Tiempo Maestro and the Puma King in this specific category.
Big Names with New Balance Boots
NB has already taken the likes of Harvey Elliott, and Tim Weah into its fold. But so far, the high-profile ambassadors are:
Bukayo Saka
Now a superstar in his own right, be it for club or country, Saka has successfully stepped out of the shadows of the likes of Mane and Sterling to be a headliner for the New Balance brand. He gets signature releases every now and then, and even custom boots that showcase inter-brand collaborations.
Endrick
With him at the helm of the Tekela, Endrick forms a one-two punch with Saka for New Balance in the next few years. The Brazilian joined New Balance when he made his move to Real Madrid, and that signifies his intent to be a huge presence for the brand for the foreseeable future.
Sadio Mane
Sadio Mane is to New Balance what CR7 is to Nike. Since joining in 2018, Mane has become the face not only of the Furon boot, but also of New Balance football in general. He now constantly receives signature releases to mark special football occasions and personal achievements.
Raheem Sterling
The multi-titled winger signed in 2021 to further improve the profile of the brand among footballers. He also wears the Tekela and prefers the laced low-cut model.
New Packs from NB
Live Wire
Live Wire delivered high-voltage aesthetics across New Balance’s three premier silos, blending a vibrant yellow, a deep tone of black and a fierce red to get a feel of that electric current energy. Furon took much of that Punch Yellow, utilising the Fire Cracker red as a jagged transition to the black heel. For those seeking a more technical vibe, the Tekela v5 featured a predominantly black construction highlighted by a bright yellow “N” and subtle red pops. The collection was rounded out by the 442 v3’s classic heritage look but with the adoption of the pack’s signature electric palette through its iridescent branding and contrasting soleplate.
Solar Flare
With the Solar Flare pack, New Balance gave both the Tekela v5 and Furon v8 a sun-soaked look that popped beautifully against the green of the pitch. The blazing Hot Mango upper did all the talking, while the Furon arguably expressed more of that scorching theme by increasing the reddish accent via the ragged graphics. The contrasting neon accents provided a sharp, modern edge without going over the top. Underfoot, the iridescent soleplate brought a premium finish, catching the light with every movement.
Stone Island 2025
The New Balance Furon v8 Stone Island had a proper slick look to it, coming in that muted, sandy beige that felt effortlessly premium rather than shouty. The knit upper looked tidy and refined, with the Stone Island branding sitting subtly along the side like a quiet flex. You had that big, sculpted New Balance “N” blended into the texture, giving it a modern, almost tactical vibe. The chrome-like soleplate underneath added a nice bit of flash without going overboard. Compared to the Furon v7 Stone Island worn by Raheem Sterling back in 2022, this iteration took a more streamlined, monochrome approach.
Lime Light
Lime Light both intended to be darling of the crowd and to be the defining showcase of how lime green looked and performed on the pitch. This was especially manifested by the Furon, whose thematic colourway was only interrupted by the accent colours for the bespoke graphic and the brand logos. On the other hand, the Tekela and the 442 v2 took a backseat, carrying the lime green as minor details to their predominantly white and black look, respectively.
Infinite Dark 2025
Infinite Dark, New Balance’s series of black packs, arrived in 2025 to give the Tekela v5, Furon v8 and 442 v2 Elite models the blackout treatment. Amidst the blackout colourway, the Furon gave a tonel shredded upper visual to represent its speedy DNA (that same tear-through illusion managed to appear on the heel of the sister silos). On the other hand, the Tekela applied some gloss to its N logo while the 442 maintained a consistently matte look in keeping its triple black fidelity.
Cause and Effect
Cause and Effect pack dropped days ahead of the women’s Euro 2025, intending to produce outstanding play with boots to match performance and aesthetics. Tekela v5 here rocked with a metallic blue shine, while the Furon came in with a pinkish red style. In contrast to the more flamboyant options, the 442 v2 boot presented a more traditional and understated aesthetic, primarily in a deep navy blue. Each boot though related to each other by using each other’s base as their source of accents, perfect for maintaining a cohesive pack style.
NB FAQs

Are New Balance football boots good?
Money might have been a consideration, but the growth in the number of footballers (including those outside the list of sponsored stars) should mean New Balance football boots have that quality and build to at least match the more popular branded options. In fact, they do offer something unique to them that bolster their competitive advantage.

Are New Balance football boots wide?
What New Balance does is they provide actual wide fit options, so those who really have a ginormous shape of a foot won’t have to go up a few sizes and risk having a mismatch in length just to get the width right.
