What You’ll Find On This Page:

Girl’s feet grow very fast and they also change shape of time, they can grow at a rate of about 2-3 sizes per year. It is really important to know the size of their foot to make sure that they are wearing the right shoe size, so check our size guide, but also realise they may not wear these boots for long until they need a larger size.

Junior sizes run from 1 to 13.5 and are the same for girls as boys, then adult sizing is from around 3.5 to 5.5 for up to around a ten year old, when you may need to switch to adult size boots.

Girls can be sure to fit in with the junior boots as they are made unisex. Just like the boys, they are also still developing physically, which is a consideration taken when brands make their football boots for children, you can be assured that these boots would accommodate your girl’s feet nicely.

Top 10 Boots For Girls

1. Nike Jr. Superfly 9 Pro

Are Girls and Boys Boots Different?

Not at this age. When you get to adult men’s and women’s boots, there are differences between them due to the shape of ladies’ feet. But the differences are considerably less noticable at this age, so you can just look for the size boots and colours your player wants and you’ll have a pair of boots that will work for her.

The feet of the younger generation are growing at a rapid rate, but they often want to lace-up in a pair of boots modelled on the same designs as the world class professionals within the game such as Sam Mewis, Pernille Harder, and Crystal Dunn. For those who follow the men’s leagues, check out our players page, to see the latest boots being worn by the world’s best male players.

Girls Football Boots and Women Soccer

Women Soccer is now on the rise as evident in the growing popularity of the Women World Cup plus the social media following and boot sponsorship of some of the top women footballers. Young aspiring girl players have some household names to look up to as well as some football boots to look forward to wearing. Alex Morgan, who starred in USWNT’s World Cup triumphs, wears the Nike Phantom GT. Sam Kerr joins CR7 and Kylian Mbappe in wearing their exclusive Mercurial Dream Speed series. For those who idolise Vivianne Miedema, the deadly striker from the Netherlands, they could check if the adidas X Ghosted can be their boot of choice, just like hers. Another women footballer to have a boot sponsorship is Rose Lavelle, wearing the Tekela boots provided by New Balance

Closer to home, our very own Lionesses can help inspire growth of women’s football at a young age with all the scintillating display and celebratory scenes of their Euro 2022 Championship win. The victory in the finals capped off an amazing run in the tournament that included a Euro-record 22 goals scored and just two conceded, an 8-0 drubbing of Norway and a 4-0 win over Sweden. Young girls have the England’s women’s team to look up to as they start to lace up their favourite football boots, most likely influenced by their own idols.

IDA Sports Championing Women-specific Football Boots

With the exception of the Puma Ultra Ultimate, popular football boots are based on men’s sizing, leading players of the opposite sex to the adjustment with their choices (usually sizing down to fit their feet’s narrower frame). Nike, in particular, labels the box of its pairs with the men’s size and the equivalent in women’s. There were attempts from adidas, but those releases were limited and far in-between.

Fortunately, there are organisations now that are covering this gap in the market. IDA Sports, an Australia-based company co-founded by Laura Youngson and Ben Sandhu, focuses on developing football boots for women. The rationale is simple: there are anatomical differences and subjective preferences between a male and a female. Acknowledging that they can’t accommodate all types of women’s foot shapes and sizes, they are proud of the fact that if their football boots fit well, the nuances of the female athlete’s foot are also taken care of (e.g. adjusting the toe box to accommodate the toe nails).
