Being the face of the Puma Future, expect Neymar to always be the first to offer us a glimpse of the ‘future’ of the silo. And he does that! In the same manner that the Future Z was introduced, Neymar showcases a teaser for the new-gen Future Ultimate called Future Ultimate DNA. Interestingly, Puma has now streamlined their naming system for both Future and Ultra-Ultimate being the top-tier, followed by the Pro, Match and Play in succeeding order…
What is striking at the onset are the zigzags on the sides, highlighted in this release in orange. These are the PWRTAPE technologies that first appeared on the heel of the Ultra Ultimate. The idea behind PWRTAPE is to lock in that adaptive fit of the upper, securing the lockdown as well in the process to make the boot a viable laceless option.
Speaking of the upper, which is in navy with light blue graphics in the Future Ultimate DNA, is a slightly reworked FUZIONFIT360 that still has that supersoft dual mesh forefoot and compressed knitted tongue and collar. 3D textures help create more friction to prevent the ball from slicking away from you. The Z-shaped Dynamic Motion Outsole is now a two-piece structure, emphasised with a two-tone treatment, with a more aggressive triangular and diamond-like stud configuration.
