Beginning the season is like doing an entrance. But the time is now to pick things up a notch as the big nights in football start piling up. Puma gives us boots that perform as good as we are with the launch of the Gear Up pack, a collection inspired by matches from European and knockout competitions.
In this pack, the Future gets a base colourway that is deep and has that competing bluish to greenish shade. In a way, it has bits of First Mile vibes to it. The PWRTAPE takes on a darker tonal treatment but also borders itself with an outline in lime green. It’s the same colour accent that cues up whenever the boot is lifted and the forefoot half of the soleplate is visible. White logos and vamp texturing completes the paintjob of the Future Gear Up drop.
A vibrant blue dominates the look of the Ultra. It’s a hue that makes you feel like gliding the surface of the grass like how you would surf the shores of an ocean. The evoknit tongue and Formstrip logo, outlined here in white, have a light tonal treatment. The light and dark tones dynamic is also present on the sole, where the Pebax base plate takes on the former and the TPU overlay the latter.
The Gear Up Puma King has more of a navy colourway with a slight nuisance of purple. Inlays on the outsole are after the Ultra’s dominant colour and the lime green accents on the Gear Up boots appear on the King through the Formstrip outline and King branding.
