Some of their players were part of the Spanish squad that won the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and so Puma present them with custom football boots that pay tribute to their status as champions of the world. La Rojas Cata Coll, Alba Redondo and Laia Codina all received the Campeonas Puma boots. Coll gets the Campeonas treatment for her Ultra while Redondo and Codina have theirs for their preferred Future. Nonetheless, all of their boots have a thematic look that binds them together for the occasion. And Puma recognising their collective achievement boot-wise can only be a good thing for women’s football.
The custom World Cup Champion boots are mostly white to effectively make the rest of the design elements visible. Most prominent of these is the 3D-fonted ‘CAMPEONAS’ black branding located right along the medial side of the Ultra and onto the instep of the Future. Both also feature gold accents mainly from their soleplates, though Puma’s speed boot also has it on its heel panel and the accompanying streaking visuals, while the brand’s comfort boot colours it on its PWRTAPEs. And speaking of the Neymar-headlined silo, specific to it as far as the Campeonas theme goes is the constellation running across the medial side depicting Spain’s run in the 2023 World Cup. The Ultra represents this differently by showing Spain’s matches and scores above the Campeonas branding.
Ultimately, the dedication written on the heel is what makes each boot special to its respective players. The message reads out the players name followed by CAMPEONA DEL MUNDO. Puma then delivers the perfect sign-off with the understated FOREVER. CAMPEONAS. messaging, viewed towards the tip of the Ultra’s black-outlined white Formstrip as well as beside the quarter end of the Future’s PWRTAPE.
