Gold football boots are becoming more and more popular around the world with many famous footballers wearing them. Below are some images of boots available that are gold in colour or feature gold in them.
Nike Gold Boots
Ahead of the opening of season 2023/24, the Tiempo Legend 10 got a taste of limited edition release. Called the ‘Touch of Class,’ it was predominantly gold, always a classy, elegant look at any given time.
Gold boots really hit the stage at the 2022 World Cup, with Nike’s Generation Pack, the Leyenda worn by Messi and the Dream Chaser boots for Neymar by Puma. It took a while for gold to be a commonly used colour on boots like white and a few others, but now gold boots make regular appearances especially for limited and special editions.
Some argue you have to be a good player to wear them but we think they can be worn by anyone. So if you fancy a pair go buy some, they look great when your playing and will make you stand out.
The 2022 World Cup-inspired ‘Generation’ Mercurials and Phantoms were officially ‘Metallic Copper’ but did have golden hues under the bright lights. This is especially true with the Superfly and Vapor given the gloss of their Vaporposite+ upper in this pack.
Nike put a spin to its World Cup Superfly for its Mbappe signature by changing the brandings to bespoke ones for the player, as well as adding the French flag colours on the rear end of the soleplate and covering the Air Zoom window with the same shade of the soleplate.
adidas Gold Boots
The Leyenda X Speedportals were Messi’s signature boots for the Qatar World Cup. The dominance of gold befitted his status as a GOAT not just for Argentina but for world football. Leyenda featured gold in two tones-matte finish for the upper and chrome for the outsole. Worn at the player’s last World Cup, the Messi boot circled back to what the Argentine wore in his first World Cup in 2006 for the design inspiration.
Top 10 Gold Boots Ever
Nike Mercurial Superfly 4 CR7 Rare Gold
Nike announced in January 2015 that it was giving CR7 a unique special boot to celebrate his accomplishments that at that time were capped by his third Balon d’Or award. The ‘Rare Gold’ showed the Superfly 4 in a black and gold colourway combination for its Flyknit upper. And aside from the choice of gold, the premium nature of this limited edition boot was emphasized by none other than the micro diamonds that were handcrafted to the ‘CR7’ logo.
Adidas Predator Absolute Zinedine Zidane
Given his status as one of Adidas’ iconic players, Zinedine Zidane played with an exclusive gold pair of the Predator that was widely used during the 2006 FIFA World Cup. The Absolute was known for its changeable PowerPulse sock liners and infused ‘liquid elements.’
Nike Hypervenom Phantom Golden Dream
Inspired by the story of Neymar spray painting his boots gold when he was 12 years old, Nike provided Hypervenom Phantom’s poster boy Neymar with the ‘Golden Dream’ boots in June 2014, right after Brazil defeated Cameroon to advance to the knockout stages of the 2014 World Cup. The ‘Golden Dream’ was a special edition of the aforementioned Nike boots and, as a Hypervenom boot, it featured the Nikeskin technology, a soft and supple mesh upper with a thin polyurethane film treated with ACC for consistent touch even in wet conditions.
Adidas Predator Powerswerve DB Gold
In 2008 Adidas bestowed Beckham with a special gold Powerswerve boot to celebrate his 100th cap for England. The Predator Powerswerve was known for its metallic microfibre upper as the man himself David Beckham was against using animal skin on football boots. The Powerswerve also featured an asymmetrical lacing system and a fold-over tongue to cater Beckham’s exquisite skill with crossing and free kicks.
Nike Hypervenom Phantom III Harry Kane Gold
Following his golden boot performance in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Harry Kane was provided by Nike with a special-edition golden Hypervenom Phantom III that he wore against Spain in their opening Nations’ League match in September 2018. The Hypervenom Phantom III provided extra ping sensation when striking the ball courtesy of its ‘poron’ pods, while comfort and fit were delivered by the combination of the Flyknit and Flywire cables in the upper.
Adidas X 16+ Purechaos Spacecraft
September 2016 showed the world a limited-edition collection of golden boots of which the Adidas X16+ Purechaos was part of. The ‘Spacecraft’ X 16+ was unique among the other X 16+ releases in that it had a leather forefoot. Other than the gold plating and leather forefoot, this edition of the X still featured the usual tech of the X 16+ like the Techfit collar and Non-Stop Grip finish and was designed to be worn by Gareth Bale and Luis Suarez.
Nike Mercurial Vapor II Gold R9
Even before CR7, Nike already had a star named Ronaldo donning the Nike Mercurial boots. In 2004, the Nike Mercurial Vapor II R9 got a golden makeover and at one point this boot had been worn by the eventual Nike modern star Cristiano Ronaldo in what could be described now as a foretelling passing of the torch. The Vapor II was ahead of its time as a speed boot and featured a Speedtract configuration on the soleplate for unrivalled speed. It also had a thin and super lightweight NikeSkin upper that was perfect for the light feet of both Ronaldo superstars.
Mizuno Morelia Neo 2 Gold
Mizuno, the Japanese manufacturer of premium K-leather football boots, delivered the Morelia Neo 2 gold in September 2018. The Morelia Neo 2 gold was worn by the technically proficient Fernando Torres and the boot was put into good use by the striker thanks to its ultra-thin and comfortable Scotchguard K-leather forefoot and slim modern speed boot profile.
Puma One Gold Sergio Aguero
This boot was debuted by Sergio Aguero in November 2017 against Arsenal in celebration of his achievement as Manchester City’s top goal scorer of all time. It was given a limited-edition release a few weeks later to bring the boot’s microfibre upper and evoKnit sock up for retail consumption.
Nike Tiempo Totti X Roma
Another celebration in the form of a personalized boot happened in April 2017 as Nike launched the Tiempo Totti X Roma. The boot celebrated Roma’s talisman Francesco Totti and his remarkable 25 years in professional football. This edition of the Tiempo silo displayed a fold-over tongue and a leather upper all coated in gold. It made it unmistakable that the boot was for Roma’s talisman with its bold ‘TOTTI’ branding at the back of the heel.
