Shadowportal is the second adidas black pack of 2022, following the Edge of Darkness pack. It won’t get an on-pitch release like any other blackout boots and serves mainly as a backup traditional alternative to the new season pack release. Like in the colourful ‘Game Data‘ pack, the X line in Shadowportal now includes the new-gen Speedportal. The Shadowportal boots give one a low-key start for the season while enjoying the unique benefits of his chosen adidas silo. The ever-classic black colourway is always about focus and selflessness.
The latest black Predator Edge has the Zoneskins in black, making the grip elements blend well with the Primeknit upper and its overlay. With the adidas logo on the tongue and the trademark stripes on the quarter in bright solar green, the emphasis is less on the central Predator feature and more on the adidas branding. The forefoot plate of the split-soled Facetframe spills out a solar red accent on the front side of the boot.
Shadowportal Copa has more of the solar red for its secondary colour detail, which applies to the topmost structure of the wavy external heel counter. Other red details include the COPA branding on the tip of the tongue and the heel liner together with the Sensepods. Especially when the boot is on-feet, the latter does not have immediate visibility, and the same applies to the solar green inner side of the anatomic low-cut collar. Fusionskin remains sleek with both leather and knit layers in black.
The first official black version of the new-gen X Speedportal already reveals a slight aesthetical change from the Speedflow. Unlike the latter, the Speedportal pushes the Stripes, which are solar red in this release, further to the forefoot. All the upper layers and the soleplate are black, hiding their new construction in plain sight. In contrast to the Copa, the heel liner and the cushion on the X opt for the solar green shade.
