adidas and Mo Salah return to give us part II of the adidas Prepare for Battle pack. If you can remember, Part 1 was the X Speedflow first Salah-signature, a boot designed with the same graphic pattern as the special Messi F50 Adizero worn in the 2014 World Cup.
This time, the regular F50 Adizero IV itself that formed part of the original ‘Battle Pack’ takes the spotlight and gets a remake. It is another wonderful addition to the list of incredible Adizero remakes adidas has been producing these past few years. A remake that is sure to bring a lot of nostalgia, the F50 Adizero IV 2022 carries the core features and visuals of the original for us to enjoy and savour once again.
That iconic black-and-white jagged pattern, inspired by the skin of Amazon predators, dressing up the leather-emulating Hybridtouch upper gets fully revived in this special release. So you not only get to rock a popular colourway from the past, you also get to experience the fit and feel of a central F50 Adizero feature that make the silo a classic on its own right. What’s more, adidas equips the Hybridtouch with the 1st generation Carbitex Speedframe to double down on the speed boot experience.
A sense of timeless elegance radiates from the boot courtesy of its bold adidas stripes and their change to metallic gold instead of the striking orange. The new accent also covers the capsulated brandings on the heel (a detail that was also present on the OG Battle Pack Adizero).
Even the grid seam (now in white) on the quarter makes an appearance, though the boot replaces the lightweight and translucent Speedfoil material with a more solid synthetic. On-feet, it’s marvelous to see that a previous tech and material still works well today, even complementing the Carbitex Speedframe to a certain extent.
