We all know how this works. Towards a major football event like tournaments, season-openings and endings and finals, we get a boot pack with fancy colourways that the elite players themselves get to flash for everyone to see. But not all of us would want that kind of attention-well at least not for now. adidas shows it has not forgotten that casual player who just wants to enjoy his football, nor the academy player who wants to keep a low-profile in the meantime while he focuses on his growth and development. While your international stars gets to compete in the Euro/Copa America 2024 wearing their respective Advancement boots, we have the choice of going black with our favourite Stripes silo courtesy of the adidas Dark Spark pack.
For the F50, it’s its first black edition since returning this 2024. It has the faintest application of the carbon and gold accent, as seen on the side stripes and the bespoke pinstripe trim coursing through the upper. The gold seem to be more prominent on the outsole spines, but even that is blurred out because of the plastic overlay on the tooling. This is not to say that the secondary colour details are not noticeable. It’s just that the chosen shade as well leans more on the darker tones, which blends in well with the overall black paint job of the Dark Spark Pack.
The Dark Spark Predator, I think, represent the perfect balance between prominence and blend of the accent design. The curved Stripes fang in gracefully to the sides to the tune of a silverish Carbon glow, while the rest of the branding reads out in a bright golden shade. Especially with the FT model, adidas adds a golden shine to the overlay structures positioned on the toe and on the Iateral side towards the heel. It then punctuates the design with the bold and large PREDATOR sole branding in matte gold. I could not help but notice that besides the inclusion of gold, Dark Spark Predator pretty much looks like the Nightstrike release.
As for the Copa Pure 2 Dark Spark, it’s always the case of black bringing out that natural sumptuousness of a leather football boot. But relative to the pack theme, it does seem like it opted more for gold accents rather than also having a bit of that grey carbon. The minute brandings for the silo and tech. including those bespoke trims on the Stripes themselves-all go for a clean shade of gold. Like the Predator though, the shine is at its peak on the toe overlay structure on the outsole. It’s a cleaner, more straightfoward shine than that of the Predator, which has the metallic glow executed with an iridescent finish.
