Dream Speed 003

The third instalment of the Nike Mercurial Dream Speed series showcases a one-of-a-kind look, featuring a mixture of CR7 signature designs in black which cover a significant portion of the white-based football boots. The new MDS 003 boots are designed for Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe and Sam Kerr to wear.

For starters, the ever-popular Safari print forms, in an arrow-striped formation, along the medial side, as well as a layer, sandwiched by warped spacetime fabric aesthetics, of the multi-graphic outstep. The rear of the medial side also displays the coordinates-inspired graphic of the MDS001 and a reverse Swoosh outline with a mesh detailing confined within. The same Swoosh outline construct appears on the lateral side.

What is striking though on the MDS003 is the diagonal bands of broad black arrows found on the medial and top of the outstep, this subtly hides the iridescent pinstripes details that provoke memories of the signature CR7 Mercurial Vapor Superfly III. The broader stripes of that previous Vapor Superfly are also not forgotten as the medial band as well as the end of the lateral band show relatively wider multi-coloured stripes.

Because of the Superfly 7’s 360° one-piece upper construction, all the graphics flow to the boot’s sole where another CR7 throwback is in place. The Aerotrack spine, studs, and the small Nike Swoosh all have a glittery surface which reminds us of the looks of CR7’s Gala Glimmer and Out of This World boot releases. The MDS003 is available in the Superfly, Vapor, kids sizes and academy level.
