Fernandes’ Football Boots

Dean Ariola

Bruno Fernandes is an energetic attacking midfielder playing for Manchester United. He currently wears the Nike Mercurial Vapor. Bruno Fernandes boots include most of the main Nike colourways and, as a nod to the player’s star profile, the Vapor edition of the MDS series.

Vapor Scary Good

It only took the pre-season for 2025/26 for Fernandes to wear the opening Vapor boot of the season. It had that base that oscillated between pink and purple, but the accent was clearly orange, which informed the Swoosh and the Air Zoom frame of the outsole. The Swoosh futher had a black outline that delineated the contrast between the primary and secondary colouring.

Prism Vapor

Things might had been rough for Fernandes as a Red Devil by the end of the 2024/25 season, but it was the opposite when talking about Portugal. With the national team, Fernandes contributed to the nation winning the UEFA Nations League for the second time. And he did so rocking the Vapor 16 of the Prism Pack, which coloured the low-cut Mercurials with a tealish-blue upper adorned with hot pink Swooshes and bespoke graphics.

Vapor 16 Mad Energy

Fernandes showed 100% participation of representing the main Vapor boot for the start of 2025. He wore the Mad Energy Vapor 10s that were mainly pink. Besides the shade being deep and full, it was actually a mellowed type of pink compared to the hot pink used on the AIR branding and the edges and branding of the Zoom Air window.

Vapor MDS 009

Before the release of MDS 009, the player already fielded the boots in an official match. It was a sign that indeed Fernandes was coming to his own as a headliner for the series that began as a CR7-Mbappe-Kerr exclusive. It also indicated the future thrust of the Mercurial series to include more and more stars in the coming years.

Vapor 16 Mad Ambition

Ever the workhorse, Fernandes wasted no time going back to his club and joined preseason training. He did so with the blue-themed Vapor 16 from the Mad Ambition pack. It was predominantly a light and bright shade for the base and a dark tone one for the accent on the logos. Mad Ambition Vapor provided options in all takedown models and in a variety of surface-specific models.

Vapor 15 Mad Brilliance

Fernandes played for Portugal in the 2024 Euro tournament. As such, he was one of the Nike players to wear the Mad Brilliance Pack in Germany. Mad Brilliance included his preferred Mercurial Vapor, which in the pack was predominantly pink and only had black accents coming from the logos and brandings. During the tournament, for whatever reason, CR7 even had to borrow the midfielder’s own pink pair in-game.

What Are Bruno Fernandes’ Football Boots?

As an acknowledged football star, Bruno was seen wearing regular on-pitch colourways for the Nike Mercurial Vapor, like the New Lights, Future Lab, and Neighbourhood packs in the case of the Vapor 13. During his time at Sporting Lisbon, some of the boots he wore included the Vapor 11 Lock In Let Loose, the Vapor 12 Always Forward, and the Vapor 12 Game Over.

Fernandes’ style of play sees him going direct against the opposition, always taking risks and looking for the killer pass. As such, flicks, crosses, and curls are part of the Bruno’s highlight reels. While Fernandes is more than capable of dribbles and goals, he is a pass-first football player and aggressively demands the ball to initiate the team’s plays. He is also an excellent set-piece taker. His trademark ‘hop’ during penalties allow him to have a high conversion on that field.

Bruno Fernandes started his football journey in Italy, playing first with Serie B side Novara. He’ll move up to Udinese and Sampdoria before eventually making a name for himself in Sporting Lisbon. Fernandes racked up individual club awards and helped the club win some of Portugal’s prestigious cup competitions. In January 2020, he completed his move to Manchester United to follow the footsteps of the great Cristiano Ronaldo. Despite having played with the team for only half a season, his immediate impact enabled him to win the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year in the said year.
