Vapor MDS 009

Before the release of MDS 009, the player already fielded the boots in an official match. It was a sign that indeed Fernandes was coming to his own as a headliner for the series that began as a CR7-Mbappe-Kerr exclusive. It also indicated the future thrust of the Mercurial series to include more and more stars in the coming years.

Vapor 16 Mad Ambition

Ever the workhorse, Fernandes wasted no time going back to his club and joined preseason training. He did so with the blue-themed Vapor 16 from the Mad Ambition pack. It was predominantly a light and bright shade for the base and a dark tone one for the accent on the logos. Mad Ambition Vapor provided options in all takedown models and in a variety of surface-specific models.

Vapor 15 Mad Brilliance

Fernandes played for Portugal in the 2024 Euro tournament. As such, he was one of the Nike players to wear the Mad Brilliance Pack in Germany. Mad Brilliance included his preferred Mercurial Vapor, which in the pack was predominantly pink and only had black accents coming from the logos and brandings. During the tournament, for whatever reason, CR7 even had to borrow the midfielder’s own pink pair in-game.

Green MDS008 Vapor 15

Just a few months after wearing the red MDS007, Fernandes immediately suited up for the green MDS008 Vapor 15 by the early months of 2024. Being teammates with Garnacho at this point, they usually wear their respective Mercurial silo for the MDS releases.

MDS007 Vapor 15

Ever since the expansion of the Mercurial Dream Speed series into the inclusion of other superstars, Fernandes had been picked to wear the Vapor version of the MDS. That continued with the red with orange MDS007, inspired by CR7s peak in Manchester United and the red Vapor he wore back then.

Peak Ready Vapor 15

The midfielder, together with other Nike players playing in the Champions League, wore the hyper turquoise boots from the Peak Ready collection, the pack that intended for the Swoosh players to kick it up a notch for the European matches after getting ready for the new season. Fernandes as expected opted for the low-cut Mercurials, partnering with Marcus Rashford who wore the Superfly in wearing the Nike speed silo in their Manchester United games.

Vapor 15 Ready Pack

Upon the release of the Nike Tiempo Legend 10 in the Ready Pack, Fernandes briefly tested it out on the pitch. For whatever reason, he switched back to the Vapors from the same pack, sporting the white with red that matched Manchester United’s 2023/24 third kit. He continued with the boots at least for the beginning months of the season.

Vapor XXV Pack

Speed might not be Bruno Fernandes’ greatest asset, but his Mercurial rise to becoming one of Manchester United’s key players meant that he was more than deserving in wearing the celebratory Vapor Nike boots from the XXV pack. The silver with bolt accent speed boots accurately symbolised the stamina and durability of the midfielder who at the point of the Vapor XXV pack release had been playing twice, even almost thrice a week since the resumption of league football after the 2022 World Cup.

Vapor 15 Luminous

Fernandes always had an eye for that Hollywood pass, and so a boot that had a bold and flashy colourway like this pink Vapor 15s surely matched his character. You wear pink and people expect you to deliver the goods, which the Portuguese midfielder was more than capable of. The Luminous Mercurials was worn by Fernandes as part of the 2022/23 season-ending player-wide pack release.

Mercurial Vapor Dream Speed 6

Officially labeled ‘Cobalt Bliss/Black/Fuschia,’ the MDS006 actually had the Mercurial boots in purple base with the dark pink accenting the floral design and black for the brand logos. By being picked to wear the MDS006, Fernandes continued to cement his place in Nike as one of the Vapor players to follow.

What Are Bruno Fernandes’ Football Boots?

As an acknowledged football star, Bruno was seen wearing regular on-pitch colourways for the Nike Mercurial Vapor, like the New Lights, Future Lab, and Neighbourhood packs in the case of the Vapor 13. During his time at Sporting Lisbon, some of the boots he wore included the Vapor 11 Lock In Let Loose, the Vapor 12 Always Forward, and the Vapor 12 Game Over.

Fernandes’ style of play sees him going direct against the opposition, always taking risks and looking for the killer pass. As such, flicks, crosses, and curls are part of the Bruno’s highlight reels. While Fernandes is more than capable of dribbles and goals, he is a pass-first football player and aggressively demands the ball to initiate the team’s plays. He is also an excellent set-piece taker. His trademark ‘hop’ during penalties allow him to have a high conversion on that field.

Bruno Fernandes started his football journey in Italy, playing first with Serie B side Novara. He’ll move up to Udinese and Sampdoria before eventually making a name for himself in Sporting Lisbon. Fernandes racked up individual club awards and helped the club win some of Portugal’s prestigious cup competitions. In January 2020, he completed his move to Manchester United to follow the footsteps of the great Cristiano Ronaldo. Despite having played with the team for only half a season, his immediate impact enabled him to win the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year in the said year.
