2006 ended unspectacularly for Zinedine Zidane’s World Cup campaign, but his golden Predator Absolutes surely took an iconic status in the football boot world. We already had the golden Predator Accelerator for the French star way back in 2019 as adidas celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Predator silo.
But this particular golden release certainly takes another meaning, enabling those who missed out on the signature boots 16 years ago to finally get their feet in them. With the ZZ Predator Absolute 2022 remake, you get the same gold with white stripes boot look with a nostalgic effect.
More importantly, the remake brings back the actual upper build to further enhance the throwback experience. K-leather, fold-over tongue, curved narrow adidas striping and the asymmetrical lacing that gives more room for the external grip and power elements unique to the Absolute. Making things better, however, is the use of the modern Controlframe split-soleplate. It is exactly the same formula used when adidas remade the Absolute with the Eternal Class pack in 2020.
You can have a pair of the Zidane Absolute remake starting November 10, 2022.
