Montebelluna holds a special meaning for Nike boot enthusiasts, producing one of the precursor boots to the rise of the Mercurials. Synonymous to the Swoosh brand’s Italian factory is the 1997 Air GX leather football boot that incorporates the patented Zoom Air technology and a structural silhouette that is ahead of its time. As of recent times, the Tech Craft Pack and the 2017 Hypervenom Phantom III GX remake are some of the public releases that came from Montebelluna, which now focuses on producing the custom boots for the Nike athletes. So in celebration of its well-known boot factory, Nike releases the Made in Italy Tiempo Legend 9 SE.
Right off the bat, the Made in Italy Tiempo Legend 9 presents a calm yet pleasing appearance with its greyish base and pops of royal blue accents courtesy of the Swoosh logos and the free-flowing lines along the seams. The leather texture provides the upper a contrasting matte finish to the silvery shine of the Hyperstability outsole. With the exception of the greyish tone, the entire colourway harks back to Andrea Pirlo’s White with Blue Tiempo Legend 2s in 2006.
The ultimate Montebelluna tribute, however, lies with the Alegria leather used for the upper, instead of the usual K-leather, that will give you the raw and untreated leather experience of the classic times. The boot also has that small Italian flag tab near the heel and the Montebelluna logo at the rear to complete the theme of the release.

Soft Ground Anti Clog ‘MADE IN ITALY’ TIEMPO LEGEND
Regarding the soft grass version, the fact that the Legend 9 is the lightest Tiempo to date jives well with the improvements on the Nike’s SG outsoles. The Anti-Clog soleplate, aside from minimising mud buildup, removes the screw-in structures to not only make the metal studs permanent, but also to make them significantly weigh less.

The Artificial Grass tooling, on the other hand, limits the impact of the denser synthetic pitches with its short conical studs. The said studs are made hollow to make them slow down the wear caused by the frictional heat of the manufactured grass grounds.
