Mercurial Remakes

The original Max Orange Abyss Metallic Silver Mercurial was premiered by Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in 2009, the new Future DNA Mercurial remake will be worn by Leroy Sane of Manchester City and Germany.

The Mercurial Vapor Superfly which introduced the supportive Flywire cable technology and a bladed stud patterned sole plate debuted 11 years ago and featured a max orange abyss and metallic silver colorway.

The metallic silver covered much of the toebox and extended to the lower half (almost touching the the soleplate) of the lateral up to the heel before striking up diagonally to the quarter of the medial side, while the rest (instep to medial side and the upper half of the lateral up until the diagonal cut) was with the max orange abyss. The metallic front and side also highlighted a dark purple Swoosh symbol. The outsole displayed a black checkered pattern.

Fast forward to 2020 and this orange-silver combination with dark purple Swoosh skin has now been applied to the 360° Flyknit, Nikeskin overlaid, and ACC coated upper of the Mercurial Vapor XIII. The Aerotrac split sole plate now sits on a black checkered print to complete the retro look.
