Design Your Own Superfly!

Dean Ariola

Through NIKEID, you can customise and create your very own Mercurial Superfly using an array of colours, branding, iD and traction options. For the Nike By You Mercurial Superfly, you can customise the Elite version and the cheaper Academy takedown, as well as having the option of changing soleplates to either FG or AG.

Make Your Superfly

You have to follow some preset options for the Superfly Elite NIKEID, starting with a variety of base colour options: black, white, royal pulse, hyper turquoise and pink foam. You can then choose if you’ll have solid colour, chrome or iridescent for your FG soleplate, or between black and white for AG tooling. To finish the touch on the outsole, you can choose an accent colour for the Zoom Air window.

There is more variety when it comes to the Swoosh colour, lots of choices for the solid, metallic and gradient options. I think your choice of base and Swoosh combination is the key for a standout Superfly By You design. You can then enhance the logo with Swoosh border choices of solid or metallic. Contrast or complement your accent with the colour of your laces, and complete your personalised colourway with that optional text detail (positioned on medial side of the quarter, should you opt to have one).

Nike Mercurial Superfly 10 Elite By You

Here is the step-by-step process of customising your own Superfly colourway.

1. Base

Choosing a colour here extends up to the collar and applies a tonal shade for the AIR branding on the heel.

2. Plate

Superfly NikeID does not include the SG-Pro or SG-Pro Anti-Clog for the tooling. Solid colouring affects only the base board where the transparent structure forming into the studs is attached to.

3. Plate Accent

This is where you can modify the theme of the Zoom Air window.

4. Swoosh

It applies to both the big one around the outstep and the arch, as well as the small one on the medial side.

5. Swoosh Outline

This gives you another way of making the Swooshes stand out. Choose a similar, if not the same colour as the Swoosh if you opt for a solid-fill look.

6. Lace

Contrast or blend your laces with the rest of the boot, depending on your preference.

7. Text

Text in Superfly NikeID is positioned on the leaning leg of the ‘R’ in the ‘AIR’ heel branding. It has a max of 5 alphanumeric characters (letters in uppercase) for each boot.

Can you Get NikeID Academy Superfly?

Yes! There is a Superfly preset for the Academy version which is much cheaper than the Elite versions, using a NikeSkin upper instead of the Gripknit/AtomKnit material, and the cheaper plastic for the soleplate. In exchange, you have more choices for the base, same presets for the Swoosh (no border customisation though), and a wider variety of lace colours. Adding personalised text is also available. You only have solid-fill selections for the soleplate, and the plate accent detailing is removed.

Nigeria Inspired NikedID Superfly

One pair of previously available Nike football boots, were the highly sought after Nigeria-inspired NIKEID Superfly Elite, arguably the most popular preset on the NIKEID platform and you can choose two primary colours of green or black both of which look stunning however you may have to pay an additional £25 to apply the designs to the Superfly.
