Mo Salah’s Boots

Dean Ariola

Similar to Lionel Messi, Mo Salah is a key adidas sponsored athlete wearing the F50 range and also opts for the laced model instead of the laceless variant. F50 is a boot with a pliable and thin synthetic Fibertouch upper,  a flat. close-to-the-ground Sprintframe 360 outsole, and a close skin fit. All these coupled with a stud configuration that bites aggressively on the pitch make up the collection of Salah football boots. Now an established football name, Salah receives signature releases and special editions from adidas.

F50 Salah

adidas provided Salah a signature pair of the F50 for his participation in the 2025 AFCON tournament. Impressed on a white base are the details in sand-tone accents, which invoked representations of the deserts and pyramids of Egypt. The outsole had a white-to-brown fade, a look that resembled the sands in the wilderness being blown by the wind. But the visual that best highlighted Salah’s Egyptian heritage was the hieroglyphics that populated the upper and the tonal marks on the Stripes. Even the bespoke heel logo had inspiration from one of the world’s ancient form of writing.

Coral Blaze F50

It was a heartbreak debut for the Coral Blaze F50 of Salah when Liverpool was beated by Crystal Palace 2-1 during the dying minutes of their September 2025 league match. Nevertheless, with the quality of the player and his club, this bright orange boot with royal blue accents on the stripes and branding soon began experiencing wins on the pitch.

Salah One-off

Already a shoe-in for the Golden Boot award and the league title, Salah wore a special one-off adidas F50 for the last match of the 2024/25 season. The Liverbird was central to the design of the boots, with the bespoke graphics featuring prominently on the sides of each boot in the shade of adidas teal. On the lateral side of the boot, the graphics blur into a bright, solar green at the ankle to provoke a sense of speed and agility-key attributes in the winger’s style of play. With the Stripes finish in metallic gold, the boots reflected Salah’s status as a serial winner, both on individual and team level.

Two Horizons

adidas dedicated the limited edition Two Horizons F50 as a tribute to Arabic culture, recognising the impact of Arab players like Brahim Diaz and Saïd Benrahma in today’s football. This was made explicit by the Arabic writing of the F50 branding sitting side-by-side with its English counterpart. Two Horizons was made exclusively for the laced Elite, which was Mohamed Salah’s preferred F50 model.

Constituting the base colourway was a two-tone combination of Bright Red and Solar Red. The latter, noticeably deeper and darker in shade, specifically covered the forefoot. Gold supplied the accent colour and detailed the bespoke pinstriped-trims on the forefoot, and the Stripes and brandings positioned on the sides of the boot. Finding its way to the boot was the iridescent finish of the soleplate. Closing out the overall look with sparkle and shimmer was the iridescent finish of the outsole.

Mo Salah Boots

Salah is one of many players who have worn boots from both Nike and adidas in their career. His Nike history includes the Mercurial Vapors VI and VII plus Vapor Superfly III. By 2012 he made the switch to adidas, starting with the F50 Adizero Micoach, the II-IV F50 Adizeros, the 2015 F50 Adizero, and then settling with the adidas X in late 2015 after it succeeded the F50 range.

A prolific winger on the right side of Liverpool’s front three, Salah dynamically cuts into the centre onto his stronger left foot. He possesses both physical attributes and technical skills needed to be a fantastic dribbler, provider, and scorer, and has been dubbed the ‘Egyptian Messi’ as both produce quality football performance from their small frame.

Salah has generally preferred laced boots, but for a time was the main face of the X laceless options. He still features heavily in the marketing even though he has since made clear his preference to the laced 1 variant.

Who is Mo Salah?

Mohamed Salah hails from Nagrig, Basyoun, Egypt and started his senior professional career with El Mokawloon of the Egyptian Premier League in 2010. The Port Said stadium riot in February 2012 prompted the Egyptian Football Association to cancel the remainder of the season, providing an opportunity for Swiss club Basel to sign him up after he impressed in a friendly between the club and Egypt’s U23.

He would win the Swiss Super League in his first season and at least contribute to Basel’s subsequent successful title defence as he moved midseason to the Premier League for the first time in 2014 courtesy of Chelsea, the side he scored on in both home and away legs of their 2013 UCL group stage encounters. After his successful loan and permanent stints with Serie A sides Fiorentina and Roma, Liverpool snapped him up in 2017.

The rest is history then and continues to grow as he would set a record of 32 goals in the 2017-18 Premier League which is the most in a 38 game season. He would help Liverpool clinch the UCL and the FIFA Club World Cup in 2019. Together with co-adidas players Firmino, Wijnaldum, and Fabinho, Salah guided Liverpool in their quest for a first Premier League title in 30 years.
