Palmer’s Football Boots

Dean Ariola

Cole Palmer boots typically are that of the Nike Phantom. Ever since his days as a youth player, he has worn Nike boots. Palmer had a brief stint with the Phantom VSN 2 before testing out a couple of Superfly pairs. He then moved on to the low-cut Mercurials before finding his way back to Nike’s control boot. Considered to be on its 6th generation, the Phantom offers Palmer with a grippy upper that complements his technical skills and creative vision.

Attack Phantom 6

Early 2026, Palmer wore a pair of Racer Blue Phantoms that complemented his home kit for Chelsea. The blue and white combination was a perfect match to his composure, while the pink accents linked up well with his artistry and ability to stay one-step ahead of everyone else.

Mamba Phantom 6

One of the highlights of Palmer’s switch to the Phantom 6 was wearing the Mamba Edition in December 2026. The boot had a black-and-white colourway, with the quarter featuring snakeskin-like texturing that culminated in a green 3D Mamba logo on the heel. The same textured look was applied on the green Swooshes on the black Gripknit.

Scary Good Vapor 16

Palmer wearing the 2025/26 season-opening Scary Good Vapors indicated he would be a mainstay to headline for the Mercurial line. And he did good giving early justice to the boot’s pack name, as he wore the pink with orange Vapor 16s en route to scoring a brace and securing the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup with Chelsea. He initially wore select colourways only, but now looked set to market most, if not all releases from this point forward.

Fear Nothing Vapor 16

Palmer joined his Chelsea mates in competing for the 2025 Club World Cup. He did so wearing the Vapor 16 from the Fear Nothing pack, which was inspired by the Nike Clash collection for the 2012 Euro. As such, the vapor 16 also had the same combination of a white upper with red accent, only this time the boot was mostly white before fading into pink along the edges, then finally fully surrendering to a University Red shade for the outsole.

Chromatic Vapor 16

As the name suggested, this vapor boot boasted a metallic shine as its main design element. This was seen on the Swoosh and outsole, which both had a purplish-blue tint. The latter though added a gradient towards blue around the midfoot and heel, and that shade carried to something lighter on the aesthetic of the AIR branding.

Cosmic Speed 2 Vapor

The shiny Vapor 16 Cosmic Speed 2 fit Palmer’s status as one of the hottest prospects by the time he wore them. The Vapor part of the pack was heavily influenced by previous boots that had the Bright Mango colourway. Cosmic Speed 2 Pack borrowed from the playbook of the XXV Pack and kicked it up a notch by giving the Vapor and the Superfly their respective colourway on this special release.

Vapor 15 XXV Pack

Palmer wore a customised Vapor 15, where he had shiver emoticons as well as the flags of England and Caribbean island of Saint Kitts and Nevis displayed, from the XXV pack. Nike decided to put a volt accent on the Swoosh to somehow differentiate it at a glance from the Superfly. The boot had a predominantly silver colourway with tonal repeating patterns of Mercurial brandings and logos to celebrate the silo’s 25th anniversary

Who is Cole Palmer?

Cole Palmer was born in Wythenshawe, Manchester on the 6th of May 2002. He was a Manchester United fan, but ended up joining Manchester City to begin his Academy years. Palmer was able to make it to the senior team in 2020/21, and was part of the treble-winning 2022/23 squad before signing with Chelsea for the following season.

Palmer was part of the England squad that finished as runners-up in Euro 2024. Despite being limited to substitute appearances, he was able to make those minutes count. He provided the assist to Watkin’s winner in the semifinal, while scoring a goal himself in the final against Spain to bring England back into contention.

Cold Palmer

Goals and assists were the elements that fuelled his breakthrough first season with Chelsea in 2023/24. Because of his composed finishing in open play and penalties, he garnered the nickname Cold Palmer. Acknowledging his rising reputation, Palmer performed one of football’s recognisable goal celebration-the Shiver.
