The very first signature edition for Kylian Mbappe are here with the KM x Bondy Mercurial Superfly 7 and associated collection, the boots are real eye openers, one of the best and most outrageous designs we’ve seen on the Superfly 7 boot, the effort gone into the design evokes memories of CR7s signature edition Mercurials.
The inspiration for this boot is the area, just a short cycle up the canal from central Paris, towards the northern subrubs of Bondy, Mbappe’s home town. There was a mural on the wall, that became a tourist attraction, Mbappe went from Bondy’s Stade Leo-Lagrange to Monaco and on to PSG, before becoming a World Cup winner with France.
The KM x Bondy collection sees green and gold logos and with a geometric camouflage print over the boots, the colourway officially named; Vast Grey, Metallic Vivid Gold, Electro Green, across the toe box is a ’93’ inside a circle, the logo of the collection, in the iconic Total 90 style, 93 being Bondy’s postal code. On one boot two gold stars denote France’s World Cup wins, the other has Mbappe’s KM personal logo, each boot had the French Tricolour flag at the top of the heel and Mbappe written down the heel in gold, replacing the spot you would expect to see the Mercurial branding.
The Nike swoosh on the side of the boots is gold, with KM x Bondy embossed into it, leaving these boots dripping in class, the sockliners are each different too, one with the KM logo the other acknowledging Kylian’s requirements with the boots made to his specifications and Bondy’s 93104 INSEE/Postal codee.
