Nike and Barcelona is one of those you can consider as a partnership of sports giants. Be it in kits and other apparel, collections involving the two are surefire sought afters. That partnership now inspired this particular special edition football boot as the Swoosh drop the Phantom ‘Barna’ colourway. This applies to both the Luna II and GX II. No worries then on your collar preference if you’re seeking this design for your next pair of Phantoms.
Barna colourway is predominantly white actually, as the Gripknit forefoot is left devoid of any visuals. Most of the design are confined to the quarter and produce trims of red and blue. The eye-catching part of this Blaugrana combination is the 3D blocks that somehow represents the city itself and the stands of Spotify Camp Nou. Overflows of the aesthetical dynamic carry towards the outsole and proliferates it from front to end. Surely, all eyes are on the soleplate each time a step is made.
Overall design is completed by the low-key blue vamp Swooshes and the blue-outlined golden ones overlaying the quarter. The latter even subtly show the silhouette of the blocked design they minimally cover. Plus they are relatively more expressive given their choice of metallic shading. Bright, pastel-like comes to mind when checking the tone of that golden detailing. Given what’s we have seen with the colourways of the Luna/GX 2 so far Barna, it looks like the quarter and the Swooshes are the ones that would carry all the graphical design of future releases.
Barna is expected to be worn by select Nike phantom players. That means even if he is not part of the Catalan club, Erling Haaland could lace up a pair. It’s heartbreak though for Gavi‘s fans. Given his cruciate ligament injury, it’s improbable at this point to see him wear the Barna boots in a match. It would be a sight to see the La Masia product wear the Barca kit, currently under the technical sponsorship of Nike, wear the club-inspired Phantoms. Other stars who may take up the Barna boots are Kevin de Bruyne and Phil Foden.
