New adidas Predator Remake for the New Year

Dean Ariola

Just days after 2022 gave way to 2023 and adidas is at its finest again with a remake of one of its classic Predators. It’s the 2000 Precision’s time to shine this time around, giving a reminder to every one how futuristic the Predators were during the turn of the new millennium. And to help the 2023 Precision make its mark in the brand’s album of Predator remakes, adidas gives the boot a recognisable colourway that is synonymous to David Beckham!

You’d be forgiven to think you had seen this colourway last year, and that is because the white with black and pink was the theme of the ‘Unite Football‘ pack that saw a remake of the LZ and the Edge taking up an iconic Beckham look. Now, apart from rocking a look popularised by the player during his MLS stint, the colourway does a great job highlighting the Precision’s sleek Three Stripes and claw print-like Predator elements, not to mention the pink on fold-over tongue to lighten up the overall design.

The Precision Archive is available in the laceless ‘+’ and laced ‘.1’ models. It’s not readily apparent because of the fold-over tongue. However, the + variant features the Predator elements and the performance logo on the tongue in black, in contrast to their silver application on the .1 option. Both Precision remake boots do not have K-leather, with the + opting for cow leather and the .1 going for synthetics. They share the same split-soled Controlframe tooling used by the Predator Mutator and Freak.

Perhaps a sign that he would be sticking with laced Predators instead of going back to laceless, Pogba is seen here carrying the .1 model for the official press images.
