Another adidas classic comes alive in 2024 as the brand unveil the Predator Mania remake. The Stripes has already made everyone feel nostalgic by producing an FT version of the Elite Predator. But it still hits different when an actual popular boot from the past comes back in one form or another. And so this remake is an actual one-to-one recreation (at least in terms of the upper) of that boot from 2002. And not only does adidas recreate the construction itself, it also brings back the colourway is synonymous with it.
The 2024 Predator Mania remake is crafted in the adidas’ elite boot production facility in Scheinfeld, Germany. And so we get to see the Mania and everything that makes it such a great boot. First of all, there’s those iconic swerving elements that wonderfully curve around the instep. And then you have that era-defining strapped fold-over tongue hovering at the top of the boot. Lastly, that fine leather upper not only gives you comfort but also dampens your ball touch.
What’s more exciting is the looks of this Mania remake. You see, the Predator Mania has made a splash in the 2002 World Cup. And that Japan Blue colourway has been exceptionally well-received during that time. That’s the reason why the Predator Advancement has proudly worn its colours in the Euro and Copa America 2024. But if you like the real deal, now is your chance to get a pair of these Japan Blue Predator Mania boots.
Like any other classic remake, adidas has used the modern soleplate of the silo to act as the base of the boot revival. So we’ll see the Mania upper sit on a Controlframe 2.0 outsole with its triangular stud configuration. Its mostly white, and just has overlaying structures on the toe area and lateral edge in red. This is to jive well with the red accent provided by the fold-over tongue. Speaking of the tongue, adidas has embossed a ‘Made in Germany’ branding to indicate how refined and elite the boot is.
