Nike Launch New Phantom with the Vortex Pack

Dean Ariola

A new Phantom is in the house, and Nike hypes it up by leading the generational change with the Vortex Special Edition release. As the new kid on the block, the Nike Phantom Luna/GX 2 suits up with a colourway that aims to draw people in. It has that deep ocean current vibes that represent the fluidity and creativeness of a Nike Phantom player. The Luna/GX 2 now follows the Superfly and Vapor distinction of one being a collared boot and the other being a low-cut one.

The 2024 Phantom has clear-cut delineations of its materials, and so is the shades of green used to dictate the Vortex theme. The Gripknit forefoot brightens up with a minty tone. This contrasts with the tealy quarter, which also displays a tattered visual design as opposed to the clean look of the Gripknit part of the boot. The Flyknit collar, sharing tonal similarity with the rear part of Vortex, suits up with a lighter hue.

All this green field has given Nike a chance to visibly prop up the Swoosh. Starting from the arch, the Nike symbol goes with pink and then transitions to orange right in the middle. The gradient colouring is finished off with yellow towards the tip. The accents are also visible on the Cyclone360 forefoot of the sole, which contains the aquatic theme for the rest of the soleplate.
