As the classic Copa Mundial gets a refresher with Copa Icon, The Three Stripes brand turns its attention now to the modern Copa and heads into 2023 with a teaser of the new-gen Copa Pure. Replacing the Copa Sense, the Pure builds on the core feature of the present adidas leather boot silo, and then introduces some tweaks here and there to address some points raised against its predecessor.
The Teaser Copa Pure is a limited edition release available for purchase on January 9, 2023. Despite launching in SG, it’s worth noting that the soleplate is the same Torsionframe found on the earlier Nemeziz series and should give us a clear hint about composition of the FG version. The Pure Teaser also goes for the timeless Black with white and gold colourway, clearly invoking its ties to the iconic Mundial.
As for the adjustments relative to the outgoing Sense, the Pure increases the amount of leather on the forefoot and deals away with the memory foam inserts (though it maintains a 3D-texturing to give it a sense of being a modern boot). Fusionskin remains to be the central feature of the Copa in the new-gen Pure, but the same cannot be said of the Sensepods, which are no longer present in the heel and gives way to a more standard heel padding.
Declan Rice presented the launch of the Copa Pure and, together with other Copa players, is expected to have them on in matches very soon.
