A Crossover of Speed for the Mercedes Puma Ultra!

Dean Ariola

Speed forms a core of Puma, and such dedication to quickness is why the Wild Cat is ever-present in football and Formula One. And in a perfect match of speed between the two sports, the German brand drops the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Ultra 1.4, a crossover launch where the ‘fastest car meets the fastest boot.’ A limited-edition release, the Mercedes Ultra comes in 1000 pairs only. The boot celebrates not only Puma’s heritage in football and motorsport but also the F1 success of Mercedes, as evident in its eight Formula One Constructors titles and nine Drivers titles. The timing of MAPF1 Ultra’s unveiling could not have been better as our very own Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes, and the rest of F1 delivers the heat to Silverstone’s asphalt this weekend.

The MAPF1 Ultra shines like the Mercedes mag wheel because of its Diamond Silver colourway for the MATRXEVO upper and Speedunit Peba outsole. The laces, knitted tongue, and low-cut collar proudly carry the Spectra Green of the F1 team. If that is not enough to represent the Mercedes inspiration, the heel of this Ultra flashes the corporate livery and wordmarks of Mercedes AMG Petronas in black. Ultra’s marking comes in layers of a white outline with a solid Spectra fill (all underlined by the white technological brandings) on the opposite side. The same offset setup informs the Puma Wild Cat on the outstep.
