Lightweight boots blamed for metatarsal injury

“I think it is these stupid boots, they’re like carpet slippers” . . . the controversy connected with lightweight football boots  has flared up once again following these comments by Neil Warnock.

The QPR manager slammed the boots in today’s footballing world after confirming that the former Blackpool hitman DJ Campbell is facing as much as 8 weeks out with a suspected broken metatarsal during a training session on Thursday in the last kick of a practice game.

Note that the striker has played his last games in the adidas adiZero RS7, which is the rugby version of the F50, thus offering greater support in theory.
