Nike’s Elite football boots are set apart from the standard versions through the black carbon-fibre soleplate used, being the result of extensive research and player testing, reducing the player’s average expenditure of energy.
Furthermore, this second incarnation of the CTR360 Maestri involves new instep pads, split into two to cover a larger surface area, which enhance ball control through the fin structure employed (similar to that in the T90 Lasers).
Note that the asymmetrical lacing system continues to expand the player’s area for ball control.
With Arsenal’s Cesc Fàbregas and Jack Wilshere being lead wearers of these football boots, it was no surprise to see such a colourway, which might look rather good with the Gunners’ away jersey.
