Assou-Ekotto switches back to adidas ?

Truly a personality when it comes to the world of football boots is the French-born Cameroonian left-back Benoît Assou-Ekotto, since somewhat complementing the number 32′s eccentric hairstyle is his rather odd choice of football boots, most notably mixing and matching adidas releases.

First of all, we must say that the Tottenham Hotspur footballer has been equipped with a pair of the newly released 10K Force Pro II football boots by Spurs’ sponsor Under Armour this summer, as spotted during a low-key goalless draw with Liverpool during a pre-season friendly match.

This incarnation is based on the idea to have the comfort and support of a running shoe combined with lightweight traction and plenty of technological innovations to help your footballing game, including bespoke customisation for the full-back in terms of his initials ‘BAE’ and his native flag as shown above.

However, at White Hart Lane yesterday, we spotted Assou-Ekotto back to his antics, striking a lucky combination of the German brand’s adiPower, the Predator edition prior to the current Lethal Zones, as also being worn by new Manchester United signing Robin van Persie in the Slime colour scheme.

More specifically, he managed to put his side in the lead through a deflected shot taken wearing the original Sharp Blue / Electricity / Black adidas adiPower Predator on his beloved left foot and the  White / Purple adiPower Predator for the 11 / 12 UEFA Champions League on his right.

Note that James Morrison’s late equaliser for West Bromwich Albion eventually gave a body blow to André Villas-Boas on his home debut as the Spurs’ manager.
