Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher has swapped his long-standing relationship with Nike football boots for the football boots of German rivals adidas.

The Scot has been a Nike man since breaking into the Manchester United team back in 2003, often sticking to the Tiempo Legend line of football boots. However, he has now signed on with adidas, playing and training in the adidas adiPure III, as shown below in the match between the Red Devils and Celtic.

Elegant adidas adiPures feature prominently every season, mainly thanks to key wearers such as Frank Lampard and Kaká. Its status may now be enhanced as Fletcher has made the switch during pre-season.

The Dalkeith native will not have football boots matching the new Nike Manchester United shirt for 2010/11. However, adidas have revealed that they would be manufacturing the Scotland national team kits.
