A new adidas boot is being tested and the first player to be spotted with the boot is Dortmund’s Sven Bender. He has been training in them and got some pre-season game time in the new boots too.

In what at first glance looks like a Umbro X-Boot, is in fact a black-out pair of adidas boots with a yellow detail across the midfoot. It was about this time last year we really started to see the LZ being tested, so are we looking at a new Predator for 2013 or perhaps a new unique silo from adidas?
Bender has previously been a Nike wearer, having worn the Nike T90 Laser III in 2010 and the Nike CTR360 Maestri II in 2011, he has even been seen in the unreleased Maestri III that will be out this August.

A defensive midfielder is not going to be testing a new speed boot and with a new adiPure due in or before October 2013 and a new Predator not scheduled right now until 2014, we are thinking adiPURE.

It could be said that the adiPure 11pro has not been the success that adidas had wanted it to be, with players not happy with the synthetic material for their touch, so it makes absolute sense that these boots with leather at the toe for touch and synthetic at the back to reduce weight could be the next generation of adiPure.

From the pictures it looks like the toe of these boots is made from leather, with a SprintWeb support. You can see the three stripes at the back of the boot, which seems to have a Sprint frame sole. There is what looks like a pass pad on the instep, using the adidas three stripes and the laces are positioned off centre. There is a raised area around the heel, which also appears to incorporate the three stripes, but is likely to be purely aesthetic rather than a performance addition.
We are just guessing until we see more of the boots in action, but what do you think of these new boots whatever they end up being?
