This year Lionel Messi won the Ballon d’Or for the third year in a row, Messi is just the fourth player to win three of FIFA’s Player of The Year awards, this time around he beat out Barcelona team-mate Xavi and Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo to the prize.

These special gold adiZeros for Messi include the years of his Ballon D’Or wins; 2009, 2010, 2011 in gold over the black three stripes and his personal logo is to the right of the stripes in black. That is on the outside of the boots, on the inside are the words: “Fifa Ballon D’Or Player of the Year”

During 2011 his club won the Champions League Final at Wembley, Messi scoring what would be the winner over Manchester United for Barcelona’s their third European title in six years. At the Club World Cup, Messi received the Golden Ball as player of the tournament and he scored two goals against Santos in the final and was awarded man of the match. Further trophies in 2011 included Spain’s Primera Division, the Spanish Supercopa and the Uefa Super Cup where Barca beat Porto 2-0 and Messi scored the opener.
Messi’s Gold F50 adizero Boots

The flag of Messi’s home country Argentina has also been put on the heel of the boots.

So for all his success in the last year it seems fitting that adidas have created a special pair of Gold boots for him. They were in the box below but as you can see from the pictures above they are out for all to see, what do you think of them?

Messi may give his new boots their debut on Sunday when Barcelona host Real Betis in La Liga, at the Nou Camp.
