Today we have a chance to hear from Ben Perkins of Soccer Equipment Reviews. Thanks to Ben for taking part, today we hear about why Ben started Soccer Equipment Reviews, his plans for the future and a bit about his collection and his favourite boots this year and of all time.

What made you want to start Soccer Equipment Reviews?
After searching literally hundreds of hours on the web to help me in my correct boot choice, I felt like I was an expert and wanted to start a small-time blog talking about how my boots worked out (they were Adidas F50.8 Tunit) as a way to earn some pocket money. I never dreamed it would come to the point where it now lies as one of the premier online boot and product reviews and news website.
Do you keep a boot collection at home? If so, what do you have in it?
Yes, I do have a very large boot collection at home. It has a huge variation from Nike, to Adidas, to Nomis (all big and little brands). Pretty much, any boot you can think of sits in my collection.
What is your favourite boot released this 2009/10 season?

This is a tough one, but I think I’d have to lean towards the Nike Ctr360 Maestri. It was a completely new boot, not like anyone we’d ever seen before. And despite people saying it would be another failure like the Super Ligera, it turned out to be one of the most sold boots this season. Thousands of professionals switched to the CTR’s, and 4 assists and 1 goal on its on-field debut by Fabregas didn’t hurt it’s cause either!
How about your favourite boot of all time?
Speciali Statements” width=”200″ height=”200″ />Another toss-up. I’d have to say the Umbro Speciali. It’s been around for a long time, and has always stuck to its comfort first motto. It’s cheap in price, but definitely not cheap in quality, and this can be found in all incarnations of the boot, especially in the latest Speciali Statement!
What plans do you have for the future of Soccer Equipment Reviews?
I want it to continue expanding at the rapid pace we’ve seen it go through since it’s beginning, and eventually aim to be the world’s main site for everything soccer product related! While it’s a lofty goal, I certainly believe it’s an attainable one!
Thanks again to Ben and good luck with SoccerEquipmentReviews.com, look out for Ben’s boot buying guide coming up in our next article.
